Our little Megan is 8!

I am late with this post. Megan's birthday was Wednesday, January 27th. BUT since she has decided she is not really 8 until she has her party (6:00 this evening at Chuck E. Cheese's), we will just say Grandmom is right on time! Our Megan is a sweet sweet girl. She is usually quiet and so loving. Sometimes she can be a little prankster (like when she hid her Mommy's keys under the desk. Mommy (Amanda) hunted all day for them (while Megan was in school). Megan thought she was so funny. Mommy didn't laugh (but Grandmom did!!! :o) It really is hard to wrap my mind around her being 8 years old! Seems such a short time ago that we prayed for her first few days of life to get better. Thank you God for answering those prayers with a big YES! She is such a special little girl!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MEGAN!!!

Rylan and Hydee

Someone has to take Hydee outside to potty. Rylan has been good to get out there in the cold and take her. We worked out a deal that everytime he takes her out, he gets a quarter for their Haiti fund. ~Amy~

Justin Made IT!!

He made it! He Made It! HE MADE IT! Justin has qualified to join the U. S. Air Force. He is in the delayed entry program. As long as he stays healthy and keeps his weight under 175 lbs he is good to go. He weights 142 now so I don't think he needs to worry. He is just a smiling! He is excited and so are James and myself. Yeah! He has a plan! Don't know exactly the job he will have yet. He still needs to graduate and turn 18 first. Just happy to know he qualified!!!!! He even lifted the 110 lbs above his head!!!! Yippee!!!!!!

Family Reunion

Do we have any ideas on dates for the family reunion? I am trying to keep dates open. Justin graduates June 11th (just thought I would put that in there). Lots of Love, Tina

Grandpa's Office

Pizza Picnic - Grandpa Danny, Rylan, & Kyndal
Grandpa's Helpers in his office
Amy, Rylan, and Kyndal came to visit Grandpa Danny and Grandmom Diane. They were out of school for MLK day and what better way to spend a weekend that has an extra day. Monday morning as they were getting ready to go home, Kyndal told her Mom that she didn't get to say goodbye to Grandpa. Diane called and asked Danny to meet them for lunch. He said, "No, just come by and I will tell them goodbye". BUT then.......Kyndal got on the phone and lunch with Grandpa was planned.
Pizza isn't exactly on G&G's New Year's diet plan, but it was cheap at $10.00 any size, any topping! .....And the 30 minutes spent with Grandpa was worth the smiles! ~diane~

Ear Aches HURT....

Hopefully the little sparkle will be back in Meggie's eyes soon!
Poor little Megan came home from school today and told her Mommy that her ear hurt really bad.  She has had the crud, so an ear infection was a possibility.  Amanda called Grandmom to ask if I thought she should take her to the doctor.  Her choices were to take her and if it was an ear infection, she had the meds and a weekend of relief, or try Triaminic and Tylenol.  Smart Mama took her to the doctor and she had a serious ear infection...  So hopefully the meds will kick in soon and all will be well!  When Amanda called I was watching Dr. Oz and he said a home remedy to try was to put peroxide in the ear canal.  If there is no infection, it won't bubble and if there is it will.  Amanda didn't try it, but might be something someone might need to know in the future.  That is IF you can stand the stuff put in your ear.  I never could stand anything in mine.  Stay well ~diane~

Prayers for Emily

Emily hasn't been feeling well.  She is having tests done next week.  We need to all put her in our prayers and pray for a solution for her.  We all want her well, but little Austin needs his Mommy to be well most of all...  ~diane~

Air Force Cadet?????

Well Justin and I went to the Air Force Recruiters office yesterday to sign his papers. We had all the necessary paperwork. However there was one problem. Somebody (his mother) laminated his Social Security card. They would not accept the card, so we had to go to the S. S. office and apply for another card. Once again this is our mother's fault she laminated mine. ( Ha ha) Anyway, once the new card comes in James' has to go and sign a permission form as well for Justin to join the Air Force. He is only 17 so he needs our permission. I tried to tell the recruiter my signature was enough but he didn't agree. Who do these people think they are the government? hmmm. Anyway the next step will be MEPS that is where you go and find out if you are physically fit enough to join the Air Force. My only worry is Justin had asthma as a young child but has not had any attacks in a long time. I think playing the trumpet for 6 years has really helps (just a thought). Some people say you can grow out of it however the doctor says no. But what does a doctor know? So I am on pins and needles waiting for Justin to go to MEPS and find out. Does the worry of a mother never end? Hope all is doing well. Take care. Love - Tina

Careful what you wish for!!

This is looking outside Diane and Danny's front door to the East. This is the snow that arrived on January 3rd, on top of the Christmas snow that had not yet melted. Today is January 5th and that picture is still the same. We were "wishing" we had been here for the Christmas snow, but I do believe we have had more sparkle than we wanted. The temperatures are low and expect to be in the 30's all week with colder temps on Thursday and Friday. I keep thinking it is Winter, but I have also decided I am definitely a warm Texas girl at heart. (This from the same girl who could NOT wait to move back to Oklahoma - I really had Southern Oklahoma in mind)! NEVER satisfied! :o)
Have a warm day, ~diane~

A Proud Dad's Dedication to his boys (men)...

Michael Prejean: Let's here for the men and women of the 41st aerial Port Squadron!!! WHOOOOOORAAAAAAA!!!

2009 - went out with a BANG (owie) for Shai!

NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART.......

Shai decided to end 2009 in the emergency room.... She was sitting on the end of a trailer right before mid-night and it went down! Her leg was under it and the piece of tin. Four stitches, one ER visit, and one tetanus shot later, she was back at the party SHOUTING HAPPY NEW YEAR! She is at home having a hard time staying off of it as instructed, and is sore, but otherwise doing okay. Let's pray Shai is up and running soon. ~(grandmom)diane~
