Change of heart....

For the past month they have been asking for someone to take the AIM kids last Saturday night, give them a bed and feed them breakfast on Sunday morning. We also took food on Saturday night and for Sunday lunch. My husband, Danny, being the nice guy he is, thought that would be so wonderful. Me, Diane, being the grouch, that I am, thought that would NOT be so wonderful. Danny said he would help me and all would be well. I finally told him - IF he would help clean the house, and IF he would cook them breakfast, we would do it. I told him we would take boys and he could be the responsible one. We got up Saturday and he was ready to go. He did help clean (even though I did have it mostly done).... We went to the store and bought the food and I cooked it. Okay he isn't too into that - except he did do the breakfast.... It did turn out to be a wonderful experience. Oh, I forgot to mention Danny volunteered to take S-I-X boys!!!!!! SIX!!!!! The six boys were very nice, kind, and polite. They sat in the living room for quite some time and visited with us and it was nice to hear about their experiences. They all got up on Sunday morning and were off to church on time. A couple that live one house over from us, took six girls. We decided on Sunday that we should have had a block party. Will I do it again - YES and I might even make the breakfast... :o)

Snuggle up with Grandpa....

When the day gets long and you just can't go anymore, find the most snuggly spot in the house and go to sleep... Everyone loves Grandpa's chair and it is even better with him in it. I don't know who snuggled the most this time - Kyndal or Grandpa Danny!!!

Kyndal's Quilt

Amy bought the material for Kyndal a quilt and Grandmom Diane made it. I pieced the top, we had it quilted at the Quilt Store. It turned out so cute. Now I have to make 5 more for the others.... ~diane~

Photos of Mother

If you would like to order a photo of Mother go to www.olanmills.com. The order number is 4869422081 - last name Cooper. She had them made for the church directory. There are 4 poses, but one was dark. These are in low resolution - the originals are better. ~diane~

All dressed up

...and no where to go????Hayden
I thought you might like to see something besides Diane's kids. I found these darling pictures of Hayden, and I knew I had to share.
Isn't she adorable!!!!

It was time to go home....

By Monday the snow melted...
....things were packed up...
Rylan, Kyndal, and Amy
Ready to go see Dad....
Bethany, Megan, and Amanda
Ready to go see Dad....
AND
Grandmom had the house cleaned, the toys put away, the laundry done, and was missing them before they all reached home.

Anointed feet....

Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. John 12:3 We did make it to church Sunday morning. Kyndal and Bethany's lesson was about Mary anointing Jesus feet. We all were given a chance to have our feet anointed. (We did have to draw the line at wiping it off with their hair)! I don't know what the teacher gave them in their little tin as the "nard", but it too filled our house with the fragrance of perfume.

....and then the snow came....

The girls had planned to go home on Saturday, but when we got at least 6 inches of snow and traveling was "discouraged" they decided to stay until the weather cleared.
Bethany and Kyndal made button necklaces..
Oh so pretty.
Kyndal couldn't decide if she needed a nap
or if she would make a button necklace???
The Mommy's and Grandmom made aprons for
the teachers, hemmed pants for Amanda, put
Kyndal's name on her baseball bag, and made
18 Little Miss Muffit hats for Kyndal's class....

THE STAND OFF!!!

We are at the zoo, waiting for Amy and Amanda to bring us lunch. Kyndal is walking around the railroad ties that lined the picnic tables. Megan thinks that looks like fun, so she walked around the other way. They MET and the STAND OFF began.

THE REST OF THE STORY..... Guess who gave in and stepped off of the railroad tie??? Megan played the "big girl" card and stepped off. Kyndal smiled and thought she had won. Megan gave in, but there were tears. Grandmom hugged her and told her she did the right thing. Ahhh, the joys of little girls! If they only knew how short lived the cousin fights are!!! ~diane~

A trip to the ZOO!

Monkeys - ours and the ones at the Zoo! Waiting for lunch!
There was a lot of waiting in line.
That is what happens on the
last day of Spring Break!
(Before a snow storm)!
Giraffe - the lady giraffe died of a neck injury
that happened on the way to the zoo this year! :o(
Flamingos
Grandmom was impressed with the orange.
I thought Flamingos were PINK!Penguins
Feeling the Earthquake!
Kavek the Polar Bear. We went to see the Polar Bear, but much to Kyndal's dismay he had died last year from chronic kidney disease. There were signs stating this and it made quite an impression on Kyndal, so I thought I would put the Polar Bear on this post. :o(
....and we were all tired.....

Happy Early Birthday, Danny!

Danny's birthday is April 5 (63 years old!!!!), but once again no one will be home on that day!!! Diane will be gone (40th class reunion) and Danny will be in Houston on a business trip... We celebrated while the girls were here. He got presents, a camo shirt and pants and seeds to plant jalapeno peppers and a phone call from Stephen! What more could a Grandpa/Dad ask for? No birthday cake for Danny, he prefers STEAK!!!

Plenty of Easter Goodies for all....

...the hunt is on....

Grandpa FINALLY made it home!!!!
Megan ~Bethany~Kyndal~& Rylan Megan found the "wall of eggs" first....
She was soon joined by Kyndal....The whole gang soon found IT!!! IF you climb way up high....

time to move on...the "wall of eggs"
