The Anderson's are getting together with Danny's Mom's side of the family for Thanksgiving. Amy put together the event and made center pieces for the table. The sticks are from her 5 acres, Kyndal gathered up the acorns from the play ground at school (they call her Squirrel), the leaves from Wal Mart, and the globes were bought in 1995 and have been used in several weddings and/or rehearsal dinners - total cost was $2.00 plus hot glue (lots of it) for the center piece. We are thankful for Amy's party planning ability. She plans the parties and the rest of us fall in line.... Amanda and I have chopped veggies, made cookies (Bethany and Megan helped with the cookies - see picture of cookies), made a cake, made potato casseroles, and I am glad the day has ended. My wish for all of you is that you are surrounded by people who love you and care for you. I am thankful for our family and send love and Thanksgiving wishes to all of you. ~diane~ Tuesday, November 24, 2009

RE: Amy's Center Piece
ReplyDeleteGerald Cole ~ Aaaaaahhhhh, a giant spider....oh wait, that's a decoration thingy that Amy made. Sorry, I have this phobia about giant spiders.
Anderson Schlup ~ hahahaha you are hilarious Uncle Gerald. Deep down, you know you love it.
Gerald Cole ~ ok, ok, my wife has the same sickness. Just gotta decorate stuff. Every holiday when I get home I think I'm in the wrong house. After 3 days I get used to it.......then it's gone. What do ya'll do with all those fluffy, flowerdy, fru fru, giant spider things when you're done?
Jeff Cole ~ what is that a Fall themed octopus?!?!
Amy Anderson Schlup ~ Uncle Gerald, it is sticks from the backyard and acorns from Kyndal's playground. Mom keeps those glass candleholders in her attic for occasions like this. The leaves are fake. So, basically everything will go back where it came from: the sticks and acorns will be burned, mom will take the globes back, and I will throw away the leaves. That simple!
Jeff, Count the legs...it is obviously not an octopus.
Gerald Cole ~ Amy obviously got her creativity from me.........since I don't have none left! Actually I gotta say your creativity is exceeded only by your love for your family. Show me the person who will take the time to make something special and I will show you someone special with a beautiful heart...................but I still think it looks like an octo-spider thingy. Happy Thanksgiving and love ya bunches!
Amy Anderson Schlup ~ Love you too.
